Universities can introduce initiatives that encourage water conservation through the Shorter Shower Program

The following are ways that universities/colleges have used the digital and sand water timers:

•Have digital timers installed in every shower on campus. This can include placards defining a short shower and the potential to save thousands of gallons water and kilowatts of energy.

•Have shower timers included in the welcome package given to entering students.

•Have water conservation products available for sale at the bookstores.
